It's just a pity that all its citizens does not enjoy its great wealth. The GDP of New York and California alone is bigger than the GNP of Australia and Canada combined. Australia and Canada has a relatively higher standard of living because more of their population share the wealth. In America the top 10% owns almost everything and the bottom ninety is left to scramble over the rest. Nonetheless, America remains the richest and most powerful country in the world. America is undoubtedly the richest country in the world. It’s just a pity that all its citizens does not enjoy its great wealth. You see, to produce food a nation needs WATER – lots of water. Yes, the 2 MOST precious resources that Australia and China lack is 1) Water and 2) Oil. It is more likely that Australia’s nearest neighbour (New Zealand) will become the “food basket” of Asia - it is already the world’s largest producer of dairy and easily has enough (virtual) water to produce most of the world’s food…. Global warming needs to be factored into such predictions and some nations will benefit (e.g, New Zealand)while other nations will have suffer(e.g., Australia). You can't eat iron ore and gold...
